Prislop Monastery

The current church was built in 1564 by Princess Zamfira. The monastery became a major pilgrimage site after Father Arsenie Boca served as its abbot from 1948 until his death in 1989 — he is buried on the monastery grounds, which receive thousands of pilgrims every year.
