Lolaia Waterfall
A drop of about 15 m on the Nucșoara valley, a short walk from the Cârnic stop in Retezat National Park.

The Lolaia Waterfall lies in Retezat National Park, on the Nucșoara valley, and is well known to hikers going up or down towards the Pietrele area. The water falls from a ledge of about 15 m, splitting into two ribbons, at the end of a stretch of gorge at around 1,000 m altitude.
The paved road from Hațeg (through Ohaba de Sub Piatră, Sălașu de Jos, Sălașu de Sus, Mălăiești and Nucșoara) reaches close to the Cârnic stop, where cars are left. From there the waterfall is about a 15–20 minute walk; it can be viewed from the front, from the path with wooden steps, or from above, from a footbridge over the Pietrele river.
