Buceș

A mountain commune in the Metaliferi Mountains, with the Vulcan Mountain reserve and an 1842 wooden church at Stănija.

Buceș is a commune in Hunedoara County, made up of 7 villages: Buceș, Buceș-Vulcan, Dupăpiatră, Grohoțele, Mihăileni, Stănija and Tarnița.

Sights in the commune include the wooden church of the Dormition in Stănija (1842, a listed monument). The area also has the Vulcan Mountain nature reserve (5 ha) and the Natura 2000 sites Metaliferi Mountains and Povernii Forest–Cernița Valley.
