A commune in the north-west of the county, in Zarand Country, with wooden churches and a listed peasant homestead.

Tomești is a commune in Hunedoara County, made up of 8 villages: Tomești, Dobroț, Leauț, Livada, Obârșa, Șteia, Tiulești and Valea Mare de Criș.

Sights in the commune include the wooden churches of Șteia (1823) and Tiulești (1784), the listed churches in Dobroț, Obârșa and Leauț and the Herbea peasant homestead in Tomești (19th c.). The area also has the Bihor Mountains (Site of Community Importance).
