Sarmizegetusa Regia open at weekends only, until 31 October

From 25 September to 31 October 2026, the site is open only on Saturdays and Sundays, because of restoration works on Terrace X.

The former capital of the Dacian kingdom has reduced opening hours this autumn: from 25 September to 31 October 2026, Sarmizegetusa Regia can only be visited on Saturdays and Sundays, and the site is closed Monday to Friday. The reason is the restoration and conservation work on Terrace X. For the rest of September, the site had already been open only Friday to Sunday, for the same reason.

At weekends, it is open 9:00–20:00 in September and 9:00–18:00 in October. Tickets cost 30 lei for adults and 10 lei for pupils, students and pensioners, and a guided tour (up to 30 people) costs 100 lei in Romanian or 150 lei in English. The site is managed by the Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilisation in Deva.
