Branu Ridge – Gugu Peak – Lake Iovan trail

A long, demanding traverse through the Godeanu Mountains, with a partly unmarked section.

Marked with a red cross, the trail starts at Lake Gura Apei, climbs the Branu ridge to Gugu Peak and Moraru Peak, then descends via Mâțului Saddle to Lake Iovan, in 12–13 hours.

Caution: according to Salvamont Hunedoara, the stretch between Gugu Peak and Bulzului Peak is partly unmarked — recommended only with a map/GPS and mountain experience.
