Pietrele Hut – Lake Bucura – Peleaga Peak trail

The trail starts at Pietrele Hut and climbs to Lake Bucura, Romania's largest glacial lake — from there, the last stretch to Peleaga Peak takes around 2–2.5 hours and has sections of unstable scree.

It's a demanding day hike, suitable only with proper mountain gear; the last stretch (Bucura–Peleaga) closes in winter due to avalanche risk.
