Parâng chairlift – Parângul Mare Peak trail

The most direct trail to Parângul Mare Peak (2,519 m), the second-highest peak in the Southern Carpathians.

Marked with a red band, the trail starts at the chairlift landing in the Parâng resort (1,685 m) and climbs to Parângul Mare Peak in 4–5 hours.

The chairlift (about 1.5 hours from the base) considerably shortens the approach, making this the most popular way to reach the Parâng ridge from Petroșani.
