Church of the Dormition, Crișcior
A 14th-15th century church founded by voivode Bâlea, with Byzantine murals unique to the area.

The “Dormition of the Mother of God” church in Crișcior, a few kilometres from Brad, was built in stone in the 14th-15th centuries on the site of an older wooden church, with a bell tower on its western side. Its founders were the local voivode Bâlea and his wife Vișa, documented in 1404.
Inside, 15th-century murals have survived — among the most valuable in the area — including a votive painting of the founders' family, scenes from the life of Christ (the Washing of the Feet, the Last Supper, the Way of the Cross) and depictions of warrior saints and the three sainted kings of Hungary. The church is listed as a historic monument of national value, LMI code HD-II-m-A-03303.
