Mining Museum, Petroșani

The only museum in Romania dedicated exclusively to coal-mining technology.

Founded in 1961, the museum has operated since 1966 in a 1920 building, formerly staff housing, now a historic monument. The collection of about 1,500 items (equipment, tools, documents, mining gear) reopened to the public in 2021 after restoration.
