Zeicu Cave
A cave reserve in the Western Jiu valley, upstream of Câmpu lui Neag, with one of the largest stalactites in the country.

Zeicu Cave opens onto the Western Jiu valley upstream of Câmpu lui Neag, by the DN66A road, inside Retezat National Park. It was declared a speleological reserve for its wide variety of stalagmite formations and its rich palaeontological finds, including traces of cave bears.
Locals used its first section to shelter their flocks, and legend says the outlaws of Zeicu hid here — rusty flintlocks were found in the cave. Past the first chamber comes a 12 m chimney and a chamber rich in formations, from which a 48 m shaft drops, holding a stalactite more than 12 m long, one of the largest in Romania. As a reserve, the interior is not set up for visitors.
That entry does not exist.
