Straja alpine coaster (Baloo Coaster)

The Baloo Coaster alpine coaster opened in late 2025 at the Straja resort, near Lupeni, at the foot of the Vâlcan Mountains. The installation was built through an investment of about €2.6 million, funded through the Just Transition Program.

The roughly 1.4 km track crosses the Sfântul Gheorghe ski slope over two suspended bridges and includes four spirals for extra thrills. The two-seat sled runs on a double rail system for added safety and can reach a top speed of about 40 km/h.
