Costești – Sarmizegetusa Regia – Godeanu Peak trail (Șureanu)

The marked trail linking the village of Costești to the Dacian capital, Sarmizegetusa Regia, and to Godeanu Peak.

Marked with a red cross, the trail climbs from Costești through the Grădiștei valley and hill up to Sarmizegetusa Regia fortress, then continues to Muncel Peak and Godeanu Peak, in 10–11 hours.

Note: this Godeanu Peak is in the Șureanu Mountains, near the Dacian fortresses — not to be confused with the Godeanu Mountains near Retezat.
