Dealul Babii trail

Dealul Babii is a hilly area between the town of Vulcan and the village of Merișor, part of a hiking loop that starts in Petroșani, passes through Aninoasa, Vulcan, Dealu Babii, Dealu Babii Pass, Merișor and Bănița, and loops back to Petroșani — a circuit of about 44 km, climbing from roughly 550 m to just over 900 m.

The area is best known in spring, when snowdrops bloom across about 3 km of hillside, turning Dealul Babii into a white carpet — a favourite spot for locals and hikers in the Jiu Valley.
