Ohaba Ponor – Ponorici-Cioclovina Cave trail

A trail through the Șura Mare Gorge to the Ponorici-Cioclovina karst system, the longest cave in the Șureanu Mountains.

Marked with a red band, the trail starts in Ohaba Ponor, passes through the Șura Mare Gorge by the Ponorici and Cioclovina caves, then reaches Luncani and Boșorod, in 7–8 hours.

Cioclovina Cave is known for the 1941 discovery of a fossil human skull dated to 28,000–29,000 years ago.
